Every other year, from 1980 to 2015, we have typically met in Houston the 3rd weekend in July to see old friends that feel like family.  We catch up and reminisce about our Libyan days and current lives. Through the years we’ve maintained lifelong friendships and created new ones based on a shared and truly unique set of circumstances.  The Libya Rendevous (formerly “The Tripoli Reunion”) is and always has been for any one that went to school or worked in Libya.  In years past we’ve heard comments like “that’s them and not us”, or “that’s their group.”  This gathering is all inclusive! It is as the definition of rendezvous implies, a place to meet and a time to be there.  Once you arrive, there will be one event per day where anyone and everyone can be found in one spot.  After you’ve connected up with people you know, you can do your own thing or join in with another group and hear stories from a different era or perspective from yours. You will likely even make some new friends that share the Libya experience, or help you remember parts of your own story.  Bottom line is, we all have a common thread, whether you were in OCS in the 80’s, Wheelus in the 60’s or worked in Libya whenever.

The agenda for these events has always been informal.  We think that if you will come, it will be an experience to remember for a long time; those that have been coming for a while would agree.
